Haifu System 001 was collected by the National Museum of China!

December 22, 2020 witnessed the donation of Chongqing Haifu Medical’s 1st Focused Ultrasound Tumor Therapeutic System (code name: Haifu System 001) to the National Museum of China (NMC), which houses more than 1.4 million pieces/sets of objects, the epitome of China’s 5,000+ years of brilliant civilization and original innovations.

To be on permanent display in NMC, Haifu System 001 was invented by Prof. WANG Zhibiao, Director of State Key Laboratory of Ultrasound in Medicine and Engineering. It had been put into clinical practice in the Second Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University since June, 1999. It had offered noninvasive organ-preserving treatment to 574 patients with benign or malignant tumors as of August, 2004. And then, it was transferred to the College of of Biomedical Engineering of Chongqing Medical University for basic experimental research. It retired at 17 in June, 2016. And now, it has been on a new mission to display the leap forward in modern medicine from invasive open surgery to the minimally-invasive endoscopic surgery and now to the noninvasive focused ultrasound therapy in China’s supreme palace of civilization and innovations.

Haifu System 001, we are so proud of you, safe trip~

Since the export of the first Haifu System to the University of Oxford in 2002, Haifu Systems has been deployed in 29 countries and regions such as UK, Germany, Spain, Russia, South Korea, Singapore, Argentina, Mexico, South Africa, Egypt and Nigeria, treating 170,000+ patients with benign or malignant tumors and gaining market access to 41 countries and regions.
