Mexican Patient Receives Non-Invasive Treatment for Pancreatic Cancer at Chongqing Haifu Hospital

Chongqing Haifu Hospital recently provided a new lease on life for Mr. Pablo, a 74-year-old patient from Mexico diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, by successfully performing a non-invasive High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) ablation procedure. This case stands as a powerful testament to how China's original focused ultrasound ablation technology is offering hope to patients worldwide.

Six months ago, Mr. Pablo began experiencing progressive gastrointestinal discomfort with pain radiating to his back. Following a local diagnosis of pancreatic cancer, he was informed that the tumor's involvement with critical blood vessels rendered him unsuitable for conventional surgery or chemoembolization. Through extensive research, Mr. Pablo and his family learned about the pioneering non-invasive ablation work being done at Chongqing Haifu Hospital in China and made the decisive journey to seek treatment.

Traveling over 13,000 kilometers, Mr. Pablo arrived at Chongqing Haifu Hospital. A multidisciplinary team led by Professor Zhang Lian conducted a comprehensive evaluation and subsequently performed the HIFU  procedure. Remarkably, on the first day post-operation, Mr. Pablo reported significant relief from the upper abdominal and back pain he had endured before the treatment.

Despite being far from home, the hospital's all-encompassing support—from meticulous medical care to thoughtful daily assistance—provided immense comfort and reassurance to Mr. Pablo and his family, embodying a truly patient-centered philosophy.

Upon his departure, Mr. Pablo presented a uniquely Chinese panda card to Ms. Han Li, Deputy Director of the hospital's administration office overseeing international patient services. He expressed that the panda symbolizes the healing smiles of his Chinese friends. A handwritten note in Spanish on the card read: "Thank you very much for your meticulous and friendly care. Please convey our gratitude to the entire team at Haifu Hospital, especially to Professor Zhang Lian. Welcome to Mexico!"

This successful international treatment highlights the world-class expertise and compassionate care at Chongqing Haifu Hospital in applying China's original HIFU technology to complex oncological cases. The hospital remains committed to the philosophy of Minimally Invasive and Non-Invasive Medicine, continually advancing non-invasive treatment technologies to provide high-quality, humane medical care for patients across the globe.
